The leader, founder, and former singing frontman for popular corporate special events band the Cool Jerks has been delighting audiences since 1979 with an uncanny blend of polished old and new soul hits, big band classics with a twist, and contemporary dance favorites packaged to please every age.
The reason for the group's enduring popularity is their ability to perfectly "read" an event and tailor exactly the music to suit the changing moods of every affair large and small, while effortlessly satisfying every age group, every taste.
From easy listening bossas and classic vocal and instrumental standards during dinner, to custom arranged horn-accented big band and swing classics (for those who remember the Golden Age of Big Bands) and on into a dazzling fast paced Motown, Disco and contemporary funk dance set sure to drive both young and old alike onto the dance floor, this is one special events group that is truly special.
The group is led by the charismatic presence of blue-eyed vocalist Richie Begin who audiences swear, with their eves closed, sounds like Al Green or perhaps Otis Redding.
The band features the cream of Northern California recording and concert musicians from Boz Scaggs, Gloria Estaben, Tower of Power, Jefferson Starship, Santana and more.
The show is completely adaptable and can sized to any event - from a ten piece stage show for large corporate parties to a swinging sextet perfect for a small backyard family wedding to a nice background jazz trio for an intimate dinner party.
